Every Christian involved in dialogue and witnessing to Muslims needs to know and understand the basic tenets of Islam. This web-site will help you to understand how Islam developed; give you an understanding of the life of Muhammad the prophet of Islam and help you to grasp the importance of the Quran and its theology.

Becoming familiar with the Quran

In order to understand Islam Christians need to read the Quran to find out what it teaches. Those engaged in Muslim evangelism and are coming to the Quran for the first time will find that they are looking at an entirely different kind of literature than the Bible.

Becoming familiar with the Hadith

Apart from the Quran, the Hadith is undoubtedly the greatest authority in Islam and needs to be evaluated in order to get a true appreciation of Muhammad and Islam. The Quran’s obscurities become clearer when we understand the Tradition. In our hadith section we include hadiths concerning Muhammad’s claim to be the Messenger of Allah; his alleged miracles and his assertion to be the Seal of the Prophets. Other hadiths can also be found here which concern such matters as Islam’s view of Jesus Christ; the alleged corruption of scripture and Islam’s understanding of sin and prayer.

Becoming familiar with the life of Muhammad

Who is this man whose name is linked with that of God in the pronouncement of the Muslim creed? Millions of the world’s population revere and honour him. Here we detail his early days as he grew up in the pagan background of Mecca; how he became an orphan and his alarming infancy and his consignment into the guardianship of Abu Talib who took him on his first mercantile trip into Syria. We then give other major influences on his life like his marriage to Khadijah; his additional polygamous marriages; his claims to divine revelation; his conflicts with the pagans and the Jews; his conquests and taking of Mecca and his sickness and death.

Becoming familiar with the Muslim world

The world’s Muslim population is expected to increase by about 35% in the next 20 years, rising from 1.6 billion in 2010 to 2.2 billion by 2030, according to population projections by the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life. They continue to state that “if current trends continue, 79 countries will have a million or more Muslim inhabitants in 2030, up from 72 countries today. A majority of the world’s Muslims (about 60%) will continue to live in the Asia-Pacific region, while about 20% will live in the Middle East and North Africa, as is the case today. But Pakistan is expected to surpass Indonesia as the country with the single largest Muslim population. The portion of the world’s Muslims living in sub-Saharan Africa is projected to rise; in 20 years, for example, more Muslims are likely to live in Nigeria than in Egypt. Muslims will remain relatively small minorities in Europe and the Americas, but they are expected to constitute a growing share of the total population in these regions.”

“About three-quarters of the world’s Muslims (74.1%) live in the 49 countries in which Muslims make up a majority of the population. More than a fifth of all Muslims (23.3%) live in non-Muslim-majority countries in the developing world. About 3% of the world’s Muslims live in more-developed regions, such as Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.” (Pew Research Center Publications)

  • I am Nahashon Mweberi an outreach pastor with ……….. Kenya, I am born again filled with God’s love , power and spirit to proclaim his word. Finding your site is an answered prayer to me because I have rarely heard people committed to reach the Muslims.Personally, I have been doing this for the last two years and have found Gods favor going before me. As I write to you now, I have more than twenty born again brothers whom I preached to and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Though I have to travel a long way to reach them, I sometimes call them to my church for a week or two for further training. God bless you and thank you for the work you are doing. Pray for me too as i commit myself fully for this great call.
