When the Quran and tradition present their picture of Jesus Christ they give him a high place among the prophets and affirm his sinless-ness and power to work miracles but all this does not distinguish His person in any way as to its nature from the other prophets who came before him. His pre-existence and his atonement are denied. What do we make of such a meagre picture? Dr. Zwemer puts it like this: “Not want of opportunity, but want of sympathy and compatibility kept him aloof from the religion of Christ. His first wife introduced him to her Christian cousin; one of his later wives had embrace Christianity in Abyssinia; and the most favoured of his wives was a Christian from the Copts of Egypt. He was acquainted with ascetic monks and had dealings with Bishops of the Orthodox Church. In those days the reading of the Holy Scriptures in the public services of the Catholic Church was already authoritatively enjoined and universally practised; if he had wished thoroughly to acquaint himself with them he could have easily done so. But having no adequate conception of the nature of sin and man’s fallen state, he also lacked the faculty of truly appreciating the remedy for it which was offered in the gospel.”

We list below some examples of hadiths which show the status and role that Jesus Christ has in Islam.

Jesus not touched by Satan

> “Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: No child is born but he is pricked by the Satan and he begins to weep because of the pricking of the Satan except the son of Mary and his mother. (Muslim Book 30, Number 5837)

> “Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The mother of every person gives him birth according to his true nature. It is subsequently his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Magian. Had his parents been Muslim he would have also remained a Muslim. Every person to whom his mother gives birth (has two aspects of his life) ; when his mother gives birth Satan strikes him but it was not the case with Mary and her son (Jesus Christ). (Muslim Book 33, Number 6429)

Jesus speaks from the cradle

> “Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: None spoke in the cradle but only three (persons), Christ son of Mary, the second one the companion of Juraij. Juraij had got constructed a temple and confined himself in that. His mother came to him as he was busy in prayer ……….……  (Muslim Book 32, Number 6188)

The descension of Jesus from heaven

> “Narrated Abu Herbaria:Allah’s Apostle said, “By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Mary (Jesus) will shortly descend amongst you people (Muslims) as a just ruler and will break the Cross and kill the pig and abolish the Jazzy (a tax taken from the non-Muslims, who are in the protection, of the Muslim government). Then there will be abundance of money and no-body will accept charitable gifts. (Bukhari Volume 3, Book 34, Number 425)

> “Narrated Abu Herbaria: Allah’s Apostle said, “The Hour will not be established until the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you as a just ruler, he will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jazzy tax. Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it (as charitable gifts). (Bukhari Volume 3, Book 43, Number 656)

> “Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, surely (Jesus,) the son of Mary will soon descend amongst you and will judge mankind justly (as a Just Ruler); he will break the Cross and kill the pigs and there will be no Jizya (i.e. taxation taken from non Muslims). Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it, and a single prostration to Allah (in prayer) will be better than the whole world and whatever is in it.” Abu Huraira added “If you wish, you can recite (this verse of the Holy Book): ‘And there is none Of the people of the Scriptures (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (i.e. Jesus as an Apostle of Allah and a human being) Before his death. And on the Day of Judgment He will be a witness Against them.” (4.159) (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 65)

> “Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said “How will you be when the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you and he will judge people by the Law of the Quran and not by the law of Gospel. (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 658)

Jesus, like Muhammad is the slave and apostle of Allah

> “Narrated ‘Omar: I heard the Prophet saying, “Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians praised the son of Mary, for I am only a Slave. So, call me the Slave of Allah and His Apostle.” (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 654)

> “Narrated ‘Ubada: The Prophet said, “If anyone testifies that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone Who has no partners, and that Muhammad is His Slave and His Apostle, and that Jesus is Allah’s Slave and His Apostle and His Word which He bestowed on Mary and a Spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is true, and Hell is true, Allah will admit him into Paradise with the deeds which he had done even if those deeds were few.” (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 644)

> “Narrated Ibn Abbas Allah’s Apostle said, “You will be resurrected (and assembled) bare-footed, naked and uncircumcised.” The Prophet then recited the Divine Verse: “As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it: A promise We have undertaken. Truly we shall do it.” (21.104). He added, “The first to be dressed will be Abraham. Then some of my companions will take to the right and to the left. I will say: ‘My companions! ‘It will be said, ‘They had been renegades since you left them.’ I will then say what the Pious Slave Jesus, the son of Mary said: ‘And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them; when You did take me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a Witness to all things. If You punish them, they are Your slaves, and if you forgive them, You, only You are the All-Mighty the All-Wise.’ ” (5.117-118) (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 656)

< ” It is narrated on the authority of Ubadah b. Samit that the messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) observed: He who said:” There is no god but Allah, He is One and there is no associate with Him, that Muhammad is his servant and His messenger, that Christ is servant and the son of His slave-girl and he (Christ) His word which He communicated to Mary and is His Spirit, that Paradise is a fact and Hell is a fact,” Allah would make him who affirms these truths enter Paradise through any one of its eight doors which he would like. (Muslim Book 1, Number 43)

Jesus only in the second heaven

> “Narrated Malik bin Sasaa: That the Prophet talked to them about the night of his Ascension to the Heavens. He said, “(Then Gabriel took me) and ascended up till he reached the second heaven where he asked for the gate to be opened, but it was asked, ‘Who is it?’ Gabriel replied, ‘I am Gabriel.’ It was asked, ‘Who is accompanying you?’ He replied, ‘Muhammad.’ It was asked, ‘Has he been called?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ When we reached over the second heaven, I saw Yahya (i.e. John) and Jesus who were cousins. Gabriel said, ‘These are John (Yahya) and Jesus, so greet them.’ I greeted them and they returned the greeting saying, ‘Welcome, O Pious Brother and Pious Prophet!;’ ” (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 640)

The closeness of Jesus and Muhammad

> “Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “I am the nearest of all the people to the son of Mary, and all the prophets are paternal brothers, and there has been no prophet between me and him (i.e. Jesus).” (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 651)

> “Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: I am most akin to the son of Mary among the whole of mankind and the Prophets are of different mothers, but of one religion, and no Prophet was raised between me and him (Jesus Christ). (Muslim Book 30, Number 5834)

Jesus observes a thief but does he have defective eyesight?

> “Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “Jesus, seeing a man stealing, asked him, ‘Did you steal?, He said, ‘No, by Allah, except Whom there is None who has the right to be worshipped’ Jesus said, ‘I believe in Allah and suspect my eyes.” (Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 653)

Description of Jesus and the Anti Christ

> “Narrated Abdullah bin Umar: Allah’s Apostle said, “Today I saw myself in a dream near the Ka’ba. I saw a whitish brown man, the handsomest of all brown men you might ever see. He had the most beautiful Limma (hair hanging down to the ear lobes) you might ever see. He had combed it and it was dripping water; and he was performing the Tawaf around the Kaba leaning on two men or on the shoulders of two men. l asked, “Who is this?” It was said. “Messiah, the son of Mary.” Suddenly I saw a curly-haired man, blind in the right eye which looked like a protruding out grape. I asked, “Who is this?” It was said, “He is Masiah Ad-Dajjal.” (Bukhari Volume 7, Book 72, Number 789)

You said that Mohammed copy the material from the bible. Point to be noted here is that the first bible ever translated in arabic was in 8th century which was psalms, so there’s no way that he could copy it, because you very well know that he was illetrate, it’s a false accusation …………

Secondly as it come to Mohammed being come to gentiles (non Jew ) it’s mentioned in your own book. Have you ever read Isaiah 42, well I’ ll help you a little bit in it because if you’ve read Islam you can’ t deny it. Verse 1 “Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.” ……….. Kedar is son of Ishmael (pbuh) (Genesis 25:13-16), and has nothing to do with Jesus (pbuh). This verse (verse 11) is not talking about Jesus (pbuh) but Muhammad (pbuh). As you know Muhammad (pbuh) is descendent of Abraham (pbuh) through Ishmael (pbuh). And the cities that they inhabited are in Arabia namely Telma (Tema/Teman), Yathrib (Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah), Paran (Makkah) etc …………………. These verses also have nothing to do with Jesus (pbuh). Verse 21 “The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable”. Verse 22 “But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore” . In this verse God talks about corrupted society of pagan Arabs ………. This verse also has nothing to do with Jesus (pbuh) Verse 23 “Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?” – Who will become Muslim? …………………… Edited by Admin

      1) All this section of the web-site proposes to do is to show both Muslims and Christians what the Quran and Traditions teach regarding Isa. Yet, here you suggest, we said, Muhammad copied material from the Bible – we wish he had! then he might have got nearer the truth! The nearest thing to a quotation from the Bible is found in Al-Ambiya 21:105 “My servants the righteous, shall inherit the earth” which some believe is a direct quotation from the Old Testament Psalm 37:29. ——————– Apart from this there is nothing in the Quran but the Traditions do come close to direct plagarisms of the New Testament text, for example: “Allah said, “I have prepared for My Pious slaves things which have never been seen by an eye, or heard by an ear, or imagined by a human being.” (Bukhari Volume. 4, Book 54, Hadith Number 467) – this is very close to “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

      2) In turning to Isaiah 42:1-13 we have not detailed your comments as they basically amount, not to an exegesis of the passage, in its context, but to a polemic of Islam. Such an approach puts it outside the realms of scholarship and is reserved only for those Muslims, who seek by analogy, to make Muhammad fit into a scenario into which he clearly does not belong. This servant of the Lord passages (Isaiah 42:1-7; 49:1-6, 50:4-9, 52:13-53:12) has Israel in its context and shows that the elect messenger will bring down the long awaited law and he will not fail until he has set judgement on the earth. Amazingly some Muslims using the process of analogy think this refers to Muhammad. The only ground they conceive is that verse 11 is connected with the villages of Kedar. Realising that Kedar (Genesis 25:13) was the second son of Ishmael and ancestor of Muhammad they make their analogy. This type of approach is seen in such extraordinary interpretations as is found in Isaiah 21:7 where riders on camels are mentioned – the analogy is made that because Muhammad rode a camel the text must concern him! Here, the words, quoted from Isaiah, are also found in Matthew 12:17-20 where they are translated from Hebrew to the Greek. Matthew’s purpose is to show that Jesus withdrew himself when pressure became intense, until his appointed hour came, and rather than being a Messiah who is thought of in military terms his Messianic features characterise tranquillity (v 19) and gentleness (v 20) and this conduct was nothing more than a fulfillment of this scripture. The Isaiah chapter prophecies about the Servant of the Lord who will be “a light for the Gentiles” (v 6) which expresses God’s concern for those outside the Jewish covenant. For this reason the chapter continues – a new song is sung (v10) from the ends of the earth, islands, the wilderness, the cities, even the village of Kedar, where the offspring of Ishmael dwell will rejoice as once they had no opportunity for salvation but now in the Servant of the Lord (Jesus Christ) there is hope.

      • Faraz:

Isaiah 42 can never refer to Jesus and it only refers to Mohammed, let me tell you how. Verse 1, Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. If you agree to this, then you agree that Jesus was no more than the servant of Lord, if you agree to this then I’ve no objection as by this Jesus was also a servant of Lord just like other prophets, it tells us the three names of Mohammed, Mustafa, Habib ullah. Verse 2 he shall not cry, nor lift up his voice, nor cause it’s voice to be heard in streets Jesus do cry, didn t he cried when he was put on the cross, his exact words were Eloi Eloi Lamasabakhtani. O GOD O GOD WHY HAS THOU FORSAKEN ME.
You say that what Mohammed say is far from the truth, well you’ve the Quran, prove it, provide with any single contradiction, any single scientific error in Quran, any single thing that proves it’s not truth ……………………………
(Admin – edited because the correspondent changes the subject into a polemic for the Quran – which is not the matter under discussion)

        • admin:

          1) You just need to go back to basics and find out what the Servant Songs of Isaiah are all about. The servant is a soteriological Messianic figure whose conception requires a certain amount of fluidity between the thought of Israel being the servant and the thought of an individual servant. Beginning in chapter 42 the servant theme is developed until until it comes to its resounding climax in which the servant is a man of sorrows (Isaiah 52:13-53:12); despised and rejected (53:1-3); healed by his wounds (53:4-6); sinless, silent sufferer (53:7-9), crowned with glory and honour (53:10-12) – he is the key to all God’s plans for his people Israel and the world. Christ as the Servant of the Lord and Messiah fulfills the servant mission of Israel and is the servant through whom all nations will be blessed. The servant songs played a prominent part in the interpretation of the scriptures of the early church and Jesus himself found them significant as an explanation of his mission.

          2) As far as Isaiah 42:1,2 is concerned what we have here is the embodiment of a servant figure, which Israel failed to live up to, and points to the perfect servant. Israel was God’s chosen one in whom he delighted (v 1); the Spirit came upon him so that he could bring justice to the nations – this is the role of the Messiah. His manner will be gentle rather than over-bearing not raising his voice in the street, even not breaking a bruised reed or snuffing out a smouldering wick – to move from the servants ministry in the streets to the events of Golgotha is desperately poor exegesis, not to say absurd.

          3) In response to your comment that Jesus “was no more than the servant of Lord” you need to be aware that the New Testament teaches that Jesus was both the Son of God and the suffering servant. The role of Jesus as a servant is well-known in the New Testament: In his capacity as the Son of Man he was a servant of his Father to fulfill and complete his will and he himself spoke in the following way: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28, Mark 10:45) The apostles were absolutely aware both of his servant-hood and his divine nature and this is nicely summarised by Paul: “ But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (Philippians 2:7-10)

          4) While there have been various ideas as to who the servant is Muhammad is never viewed as being a possibility. a) The whole context requires that the servant to be identified with Israel; b) He was a servant of Yahweh (The Lord), the God who established a covenant with his chosen people Israel – Muhammad never used this covenant name for God, even if he ever understood it; c) The Spirit who came on him was the spirit of Yahweh a concept not understood in Islam who seem to prefer equating Jibrail with that role; d) Their are numerous quotations in the New Testament from Isaiah’s prophecies which helped the church understand the role of the Messiah – as far as we are aware the Quran and the Traditions know virtually nothing about the book of Isaiah and never attempted to try and prove that Muhammad was the Servant of Isaiah; e) You need to be consistent and apply all the Servant of the Lord passages in Isaiah (Isaiah chapter 42 is only the first of the Servant Songs) to Muhammad and of course, this you cannot do. We gave you the break down of these passages in our last reply. Hopefully, now you will realise that any relationship to Muhammad in these passages (or for that matter the whole of the Bible is exegetically impossible.

Narrated Abu Herbaria: Allah’s Apostle said, “The Hour will not be established until the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you as a just ruler, he will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jazzy tax. Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it (as charitable gifts). (Bukhari Volume 3, Book 43, Number 656)…… Now why does Jesus have to abolish a Jazzy tax????… Sounds like the apostle was …. because he had to pay taxes which I don’t blame him I don’t like to pay state or federal tax my self!

    • admin:

Perhaps you do not realise that Muslims consider that Jesus was a Muslim and therefore did not have to pay the jaziya tax. The jaziya tax was imposed on the non-Muslim community after their conquests.

      • Dave:

So before Muhammad started his rein of terror his father Adullah and mother Amina were PAGANS worshippers. Muhammad’s pagan origin is disclosed by Hisham ibn al-Kalbi. On page 17 of his important work, Kitab al-Asnam (The Book of Idols) he writes ‘We have been told that the Apostle of God once mentioned al-Uzza saying, “I have offered a white sheep to al-‘Uzza, while I was a follower of the religion of my people.” In the statement above Muhammad clearly admits of his past adherence to paganism- the then religion of the Quraysh. On the same page Hisham ibn al-Kalbi writes: The Quraysh were wont to circumambulate the Ka’bah and say: By Allat and al-‘Uzza, And Manah, the third idol besides. Verily they are the most exalted females Whose intercession is to be sought. These were also called “the Daughters of Allah,” (The correspondent then refers to the Satanic Verses of Surah 53:19-23 he then goes on to detail Muhammad’s growing disillusionment with idol worship) .. and began to start preaching a new concept of one God, the creator—similar to the concepts of the Jews and the Christians of that time …… Muhammad cleverly thought that by using the word Ar-Rahman he ought to be able to attract to his new ‘religion’, the Jews as well as some pagans. So, when he declared himself to be the messenger of Ar-Rahman, the Meccans, too, were at a loss and confused.

The Meccans did not know of any Ar-Rahman other than the Ar-Rahman of al-Yamamah (some writers say Ar-Rahman was at Yemen ). To verify Muhammad’s claim the Quraysh sent a delegation to Medina Jews, as they thought that Ar-Rahman, truly, was a deity in Yemen or Yamamah. Islamic Historian Ibn Sa’d (Ibn Sa’d, Vol.1 , pp.189-190) writes: “The Quraysh sent al-Nadr Ibn al-Harith Ibn ‘Alaqamah and ‘Uqbah Ibn abi Mu’ayt and others to the Jews of Yathrib and told them to ask them (Jews) about Muhammad. They came to Medinah and said to them (Jews): We have come to you because a great affair has taken place amidst us. There is a humble orphan who makes a big claim, considering himself to be the messenger of al-Rahman, while we do not know any al-Rahman except the Rahman of al-Yamamah. They said: Give the description before us. They gave his description, on which they asked them who were his followers. They said: The lowly people among us. Thereupon a scholar from them laughed and said: he is the Prophet whose attributes we find mentioned in our Scriptures; we also know that his people will be most inimical to him.”

        • admin:

Your quotations from Hisham ibn Al-Kalbi (737-819) are helpful concerning pre-Islamic religion. Presumably Muslims will argue his interaction with false deities only occurred before he entered his prophetical office but the Satanic Verses does not bear this out.

          • Dave:

Looks like you deleted a lot of my statement!…. So it is going to be one sided debate… in your favor I could give you my reference but since you don’t have the …. to post it Then my argument would be valid. Its amazing when you are presented the truth you just delete it …… If you want to have a debate for the world to see then post my full comments, If not, you, your staff, and Muhammad can waddle in swine manure.

We certainly have deleted, and have the right to delete some of your crude language which we consider unfit for publication. Your overall comments however, have been faithfully preserved but in an edited fashion; edited only because they are extremely long or have strayed from the original subject of the web-page. If you have any general comments perhaps you would like to reply on our Home Page.

You people have really lost your mind!! Anybody who lives in caves and start seeing vision has been smoking to much hash, and not excluding the people in the Bible. When you read the statements of scholars of different countries you will find that they consider Muhammad a wacko!! Hell bent to rape and kill and steal as much as he could get his greedy hands on. I went to a Muslim conversion meeting kinda like a bullshit gathering and my one question was after it was said and done. What about the sins that I have done…. from lying stealing and killing |(because I was in the Army, I was order to Kill or be Killed!) What will happen about this that I will face!! They said All was forgotten!!! What!!!! What kind of bullshit is this So if I didn’t convert and told myself Dave believe in God and your sins will be forgotten! So, No praying no signing documents, No Séance. When it was all over and everyone was looking at me My final words to them is You all are full of Scheisse!!! I got up and left them in disbelief. Sorry people You are living in a fantasied world. Ask yourselves this if the Quran is a book of God then why are there so many different Muslim’s in the world. At least Sunni and Shiite to name a few.
If you were born at the north pole what religion would you be. You are what your religion is were you were born. “Imagine if there is no heaven I wonder if you can! Imagine all the people living life in Peace! You may say I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one, I hope someday you join US. and the World will live as ONE”! From the song Imagine by John Lennon. Religion is a means to control and its been doing a great job for the last 2000 plus years. (edited)

    • admin:

Thank you for your comments about your experiences when you attended a Muslim meeting. It is clear that you are still troubled by personal guilt. The Apostle Paul found forgiveness in acknowledging that Jesus Christ paid the price for his sin. This does not mean he ever forgot his sins, neither did other people for in one of his letters he responds to the truthful accusation that he once persecuted the church dragging off men and women to prison. His conversion led to a changed life and a renewed heart and mind where he could leave the past behind. Conversion means a change of direction and millions have found meaning, joy and life in coming to Christ.
As for the general nature of your e-mail John Lennon was baptised in an Anglican church but when he became a teenager was banned for laughing out loud at a sermon. He considered that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus and remarked “Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue with that; I’m right and I will be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now; I don’t know which will go first – rock ‘n’ roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It’s them twisting it that ruins it for me.” Perhaps he felt like you “Religion is a means to control and its been doing a great job for the last 2000 plus years.” He was not the first and will not be the last to have this view. He imagined a world of peace harmony and love achieved with out religion – well it was only a dream. I wonder if he ever read the Bible or was just disillusioned by organised religion?

      • Dave:

“Nice try Admin! It wasn’t a meeting…. more like a Séance with repeat after me!!!! ……… I never like (church) at all except it was a place to pick up girls that is the only benefit I found. I used to ask a bunch of questions and when I was 8 the preacher bent down and whisper in my ear ‘Boy you are asking the wrong question so be quite.’ …… I have been in churches all over the USA, South America, Europe, Korea and even in Kuwait ….. Edgar Allan Poe wrote “All religion my friend is simply evolved out or fraud, fear, greed, imagination, and poetry”! …….. So what is an ideal God let’s see if I was God the weather would be nice all year .. there would not be a sick man, would live with each, other no wars, no banks, no diseases, live to a ripe old age and when it was time to leave this world it would be peaceful and painless. Sounds like a dream to me but Allah or God loves problems: birth defects, killing, He is just a complete …….. ! He created everything then he did a screwed up job. I know I could do a better job and I am just a mere mortal….. As for me I when I question these so call religious people I find how little they actually know about the Bible, the Quran, Hadith or the Torah. Muslims tell me the Quran is like a book of poetry. What poetry. It tells people to lie and to kill to get people to believe in Islam that is not a book of poetry!”

        • admin:

So, just like John Lennon, you had early skirmishes with preachers. I can never understand why such people never give time to the questioning child ….. According to scholars, Poe did not quote the reference you gave. It appears that he was baptised as a child, and continued to go to church throughout his youth and occasionally as an adult. Certainly he did not follow the Episcopal teaching in which he was brought up for he wrote “My own faith is indeed my own.” In Eureka, his non-fiction treatise on science and religion, he stated that he believed in a Creator who started the universe on its course but rejected the concept that God was “omnipotent, omniscient.” It sounds as though he was Deist but later possibly became a Pantheist. Wherever his leaning lay, he considered himself a Christian. Some sources say that Poe’s final words were “Lord help my poor soul”…..
Rather than correcting the Creator about how he runs the world it would be nice for a start to send e-mails that are grammaticially clear, more concise, and do not need to be edited. Perhaps when you have developed this skill a little more you could advise the Almighty. Perhaps, a little research on Edgar Alan Poe would not go amiss either.

          • Dave:

Here is something that is from Google by means of Copy and Paste, something similar what Muhammad did. Edgar Allan Poe/ Quotes (edited) “I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity”/”Beauty of whatever kind, in its supreme development, invariably excites the sensitive soul to tears”./”The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?”/ “Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before”./”All religion, my friend, is simply evolved out of fraud, fear, greed, imagination, and poetry” (Correspondent continues When people lay on the death bed, they will say what’s closest to their heart…..

          • admin:

I have limited the number of quotation from Edgar Allan Poe which seem only confirm he had no love for established religion, was generally ambivalent to religion and seems to have taken a Deist or Pantheist position. Perhaps, as you say “When people lay on the death bed, they will say what’s closest to their heart” Poe’s last words ……. were an echo of his heart. Don’t disagree with what you call the copy and paste method of Muhammad’s inspiration by which you presumably mean the mechanical dictation method.

In no monotheistic faith are magic and sorcery so firmly established as Islam. This was one of the chief reasons for the spread of Islam in Central Africa and among the Malays of the Dutch Archipelago. The matter is discussed at some length on this site. Please read our articles under the heading ‘Aspects of Islam.’ The second section deals with the subject of Folk Islam and you will see that there are relevant articles sub-headed there for example the ‘Influence of Animism on Islam’ and ‘Magic and Sorcery.’

  • I am Sarah from Pakistan. I have studied your web site, and I found it the most wonderful site to get right to the True Word of God. Here is need of teaching like this, it is best comparative studies. As we are living among Muslims we need such types of studies.

It is really fruitful for the Christian of Pakistan. My suggestion for you is to create your material in my language of Urdu also. It will bring lots of blessings of the Word of God for the Pakistani and Indian Urdu speaking people. For that purpose I as a translator will bring your material into Urdu languages and into Punjabi language as well.

Although it will take your low expenses as well, as fund for the Word of God to reach out to the deserving people. I my self, running an orphan age center also. Many times it becomes difficult for us to keep doing this because of being minorities and because of the lack of the financial resources. We will use your translation donation for the prosperity of the Pakistani Christians.
I will wait for your response. Hope you will never ignore this.
    In Him,
